I thought I would start out with an ABOUT page!

Friend's Back Porch

I'm Helen.  My husband Ken and I took our first trip to a friend's cabin in Cadiz, Kentucky in 2014.   She had been going to Cadiz for many years now, and her family (from what I understand) is from the state prior to moving to the Chicagoland area.

My Brother in Law Mark will be retiring with us, and we had brought him on our second trip down.  At that point we started looking for a lot to build on.  We really enjoyed the area, and Lake Barkley itself as well!  We took our time, and within the next 2 years found what we were looking for!

We settled on a lot right outside Cadiz, Kentucky in the town called Canton.

I like the country atmosphere, and Ken is a avid outdoorsman.  It was a perfect fit for both of us, although I do think our adult children at this point think we have lost our minds!  Yes, this area is nothing like home.

I just want to write about the area, and things we have learned along the way.
